Early Life and Childhood
Édgar Guzmán López came into this world May 30, 1986. He was from Mexico and his nationality was Mexican. He died at the age of 22 years old and his zodiac sign was Aries. His parents were Joaquin Guzman Loera (father) and Griselda Lopez Perez (mother). Likewise, he has three brothers namely Joaquín Jr., Ovidio Guzmán López and Griselda Guadalupe. He completed early education at a state school. However, due to uncertain issues, he was unable to attend college.
His father married Alejandrina María Salazar Hernández. And they have three children together, his half-siblings, namely César, Iván Archivaldo Guzmán López and Jesús Alfredo Guzman Loera. His father married his third wife Emma Coronel Aispuro in 2007. They had two twin daughters, his half-twin sisters Maria Joaquina and Emali Guadalupe.
Édgar was his father’s chosen successor and was kept out of the family business until he graduated from school. And by 2008 he had grown his first gram of cocaine paste and decided to do business for the cartel. He traveled to Chicago, Illinois with his friend Arturo Meza Cazares and defied his father’s orders to stay home due to the high risk of arrest.
However, he managed to complete the sale and flew back to Mexico with Meza. And the two tried to sneak back to Culiacan, his father’s home base, and they drove into town one night in a red SUV. Also, some of El Chapo’s assassins mistook the SUV for Arturo Beltran Leyva’s car. And so they reported that Beltran Leyva was sighted, and they were commanded to kill him.
So they fired 500 bullets at the vehicle, riddled the two youths with bullets and killed them. Guzman’s friend El Metrico recognized the bodies. And then he was instantly filled with sadness and regret. Hence the news reported that Guzman and Meza had been killed by the Beltran Leyva cartel, not by friendly fire. He continued to be killed May 8, 2008, in Culiacan. He was accompanied by his cousin César Ariel Loera and Arturo Meza Cázares, who also died in the attack.
50,000 red roses in Culiacan
After the death of his father, the sadness of his father “El Chapo” was so great that he ordered all the roses in Culiacan to be bought for the burial in order to establish this act as historical fact. Therefore, the act of the capo is said to have left the vendors with no time to stock up on flowers for Mother’s Day. And after the event, a corrido was performed by the singer Lupillo Rivera, called “50 Thousand Roses”. A memorial was also erected in his honor at the site of his assassination.
